Dig for Victory Garden
With the country in lockdown due to Covid 19, there has never been a better time to dig for Victory! We have more time on our hands, the children need occupying at home and food supply is unreliable.
Not being able to travel for garden supplies has caused us to be more creative in the garden. It's surprisingly easy to "make do and mend" when there's no option. We have used old tyres & buckets as planters for potatoes & courgettes. An old table, which split down the middle from exposure to the rain and sun, makes an excellent potting bench when propped against the fence. Old planks we had in storage have been used to edge a new vegetable growing area. We have also cleared a large bed, which was swamped with ivy & wild garlic, to create an area for raspberry canes.
